Chef and Owner Jeannette Liebers truly loves to bake. Growing up in Queens, NY, she learned at an early age to appreciate the power of food and, thanks to her Italian grandmother, the love and care that comes from a kitchen. Those fond memories continued to fuel her love of cooking and eventually led her to culinary school. After traveling in Italy and France, she attended The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Boston, MA, and later The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.

 While walking along Phila Street, Jeannette saw a brunch spot located in the historic Caffe Lena building and said, “I want to own this one day.” Ten years later, she made it happen. Named for her middle child and only daughter, Sweet Mimi’s Cafe and Bakery opened in October 2013 and quickly became a cornerstone of the community. We are proudly a woman owned and operated business, featuring a talented team of women.
